The thread title says it all. I am a Lifetime Platinum on AA; but I never asked for matching status. I have been a Lifetime RCC member since the 1970s (when I regularly flew UA) and thus I've been in the MP program since day-1. But I have not flown UA in several years and have only 75K Lifetime Program Miles. I occasionally pick up some miles on *A flights; but only 15K in the last two years.

I now recall receiving a letter promising me something if I faxed MP a copy of mileage statements from OA FF programs. Of course AA was one. I never thought of it again and I just checked my 2005 MP statement and found no postings. But obviously UA must have decided to match my AA status. In any case, I'm no more likely to fly UA now than before. But I will now carry the card until my PE status expires in 2007 - just in case.
