I'm a complete plane nut and enjoy the flight more than my holidays - any ideas on how to get past 300points before March without bankruptcy?

Yep, you can do my trip next week. I could do with a week off. LHR-SYD-CBR-SYD-HKG-TPE-FUK-TPE-HKG-LHR. Or you could go on FlyClub's expedition to Nice on Saturday....

Seriously, what is your budget and where would you like to go. My telepathy link has broken today and the downtime is expected to be several days. There are various things that you can do to get serious pointage.

If you do not like Gordon Brown, move abroad! Well, not to North America.

Having firmly established yourself in your friend's house in continental Europe... then you need to fly. Now, it depends where you want to go and with which carrier. You might want to consider the PlAAtinum ChAAllenge if all you want is lounge access. If you want BA status, that is different for things like miles for upgrade trades, waitlist priority and so on. If you fly distance rather than frequent short trips, Qantas FF might be better.

What do you want to achieve? Where do you want to go? How much is your budget? Before you know it you will be heading off for obscure short flights in 747s in First class because you have joined the "status tart" club. I should not want to explain to your future psychiatrist why you are about to fly London to Singapore via Cape Town, JoBurg and Hong Kong.

If you need to know anything about xONEx or GLOBx fares, PM me.

And watch out for that mad bloke that will insist that you should head up to Glasgow every weekend and go and take an aircraft that lands on a beach somewhere when the tide is out, drop your champagne off at security, check in again, go to another windswept island, come back, pick up your champers and drink it on a beach where the only sign of a bikini is under four layers of clothes.

As for friends in high places, JenBel and I have a friend who lives in Bogota which at 8600 feet above sea level is fairly high. La Paz anyone?

Happy landings
