I'm still in my first week of flyertalk initiation, so I'm going to apologise in advance for the dumb questions but this seems like the obvious place to ask.

Q: I have a very good friend who is pilot with BA (7-8 yrs) and I was wondering if he could improve my score/status/whatever you call it on the BA system? He’s a great guy but doesn’t seem to know as much as the people on flyertalk.

Q: I have blue EC and always fly CE/CW but its for leisure and thus out of my own pocket, so not sure how you guys rack up the miles/points, unless you are either A: very wealthy or B: flying on business?

Q: I'm a complete plane nut and enjoy the flight more than my holidays - any ideas on how to get past 300points before March without bankruptcy?
