I do like to people watch also, but with my travel schedule I see enough people that I appreciate the boring club in between flights. The clean bathrooms and showers are very nice, and the fact that you don't have to pay $3 for a soda in the airport is always a blessing. Back before the euro when I was transiting through AMS (before I bought a club membership) I could not even buy a soda without exchanging money and I didn't really want to exchange money for just a drink. Now with a membership I can get a drink and a snack without the currency woes on intl trips and check my phone messages in peace and quiet on the domestic ones.
