Peaks and troughs, people.

More flyers, more Plats, fewer op-ups to go around. Think about it.

Considering my op-up experience at different tiers since 1999:

QF Pub: SYD-LAX Y-J (my first longhaul flight - wohoo!!!!!!!!)
CHC-AKL Y-J (Checkin bloke was a Mason, thank you brother)
ADL-PER Y-J

(None as Silver as I went Silver-Gold in about 3 weeks, mostly on CRASH-8 flights).

QF SG: AKL-SYD Y-J
WLG-SYD Y-J
MEL-SYD Y-J

QF WP: ORD-LAX Y-"F" (on AA, only ever op-up on AA)
NDI-SYD Y-J
BNE-MEL Y-J
PER-SYD Y-J
ADL-SYD Y-J x 2
SYD-MEL Y-J
SYD-PER Y-J x 4
SYD-Jakarta Y-J
SYD-BNE Y-J x 2

Not many in the past 18 months, but now I only fly J overseas or transcon, and most of my other flights are on Crash-8s (NTL-MEL, NTL-BNE, etc).

Inevitably some top-tiers will move from QF, or the bar to achieve/ maintain WP will be raised. Fine, more perks for those of us who stick around. Bring it on.

ONE CLEAR MESSAGE TO THE QF LURKERS: Mess with the seating allocation system at your peril. Changing it would be about the only single thing that would make me walk.
