I was going to reply with almost exactly what justhere wrote. I was at the electronics store and the cheapest basic, short cat-5 cables were $3.99. I don't think the ES ripped you off on price, you just seem unwilling to accept personal responsibility. When some people get mad at a situation, they look externally to find fault. It makes them feel better to see others messing up, whether the other's fault is real or imagined.
