All the chat is about doing cheap mile runs, but how many have been in my position-

End of year coming up, you still need 1500+ EQMs to make status for next year, and no biz trips before the end of the year. And for whatever reason, some of us would have a difficult time disappearing for a day or two just to fly around the country for no good reason (other than to accumulate some miles).

So... how many of you do "mileage runs" by springing something on the family they can't resist... like a trip to Hawaii? Something you wouldn't otherwise have done, but you needed the miles, y'know?

Very, very expensive way to get the miles!!! Somehow, I think UA has me right where they want me.

(Final cost will probably be in the neighborhood of $4/mile for those 1500 I need)

If they (MP) can have this effect on a 2P, I can only imagine the stories the rest of you might tell...
