AMFA agreement not with Northwest Airlines but with FLYi after they go bankrupt

Nov 8, 2005 — SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - FLYi Inc. <FLYI.O>, parent of low-fare airline Independence Air, said on Tuesday it has reached a pact with the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association, a day after FLYi filed for bankruptcy protection.

The company said in a statement that it and the mechanics union have been negotiating, under supervision of the National Mediation Board, since June 2002.
