Seabourn refers to their ships as "The Yachts of Seabourn." Small ships are what they're known for.

Given the captain's reactions and decision making, clearly this is something they trained for. If the small ships are prepared and have some sort of anti-pirate measures, you can rest assured that ships with 20 times as many people (as some of the largest do) have sufficiently more.

I do know that ships have onboard security and an onboard jail facility. That leads me to think they'd have the capability to deal with this is a much more dramatic fashion. (Not to mention that the small arms and RPG these folks had wouldn't do a whole lot of damage to a huge ship.
