One time I was flying for a meeting (round trip returning the same day). I was connecting through CLT to be in GSO or ROA (can't exactly remember) around 11:30AM for lunch and a meeting with a customer. Well, on the way to CLT a guy back in coach passes out so we make an emergency unscheduled landing in PIT. EMTs come on the plane, tend to the passenger/patient, take him off the plane and we refuel and continue on (noone else was allowed to leave the plane). So I get to CLT a few hours late missed connection, to late to even think about making the meeting if I caught the next flight or even drove from there. So USAirways refunded my entire fare and sent me home from CLT on the next flight. (I got credit for the miles!!!) And they gave me a meal voucher and a phone card while I waited for my flight home.
