The rules quoted to you were for AA Q-mile and Q-point crediting with AAdvantage, which have absolutely nothing to do with mileage earning with AS. (As far as I know, the fare should earn 100 percent on AS towards the partner qualification thresholds for MVP/Gold.)

Also, for the record, there has been zero discussion as to whether S fares earn on AA, as these have no restrictions that would cause them not to earn in certain situations (as there are with certain O and Q fares on AA).

In other words, as Gardyloo correctly points out, S fares earn 100 percent Q-miles and 50 percent Q-points on AA. (Remember that Q-miles and Q-points on AA are not the same thing, but both can be used for status qualification.) If you still choose to credit these miles to AS, they will earn 100 percent elite qualifying miles on AS.
