Thanks for the response. I am still just a bit confused. These AA miles will only count for 1/2 of the miles toward MVP Gold?

So...to break it down even simpler for me (since I'm a little slow on the uptake), If I travel 5,000 miles on AA metal in S class, Alaska Airlines will credit me 5,000 miles but only credit me with 2,500 miles towards MVP gold?
