By comparison, UA usually offers really nice green salads with chicken or fish on top. I can't imagine that the salad costs more than what AA offers. Maybe, its an ORD thing but on my AA flights I haven't had the option of chicken fingers for a few months, now. For September and October, I've run into the nasty pizza or nasty baked salmon at snack times.
As of Nov 1, "snack" flights are now offering cold sandwiches/wraps.
