ATL's current sale to Rio is available for $698.20 on Dec 3 returning on Dec 4's redeye. Gives you 8:10am - 10:55pm to enjoy the sites of Rio, too. Nets 9488 MQMs and doesn't require any connections. A problem with Europe or Asia for a MR is time zones. A weekend MR to Europe and back is not very feasible unless one never leaves the airport. Which might be desireable to save money on lodging.
Rio is a good choice since it is only 3 hours diff from ATL. Your itin also does not require a hotel stay. Good MR idea!
