United Airlines Boeing 777 landed on Oct. 20 at Beijing Capital International Airport and then taxied to Ameco Beijing to become the carrier's first 777 to undergo heavy maintenance there as part of a five-year contract announced on Aug. 30.
The job will include 66 engineering orders, 200 parts replacements and 1,935 routine job cards. The contract calls for more than 50 heavy maintenance visits during the first three years and as many as 80 over the five-year period. Ameco Beijing created an IT interface with United for electronic documents, human resources data, invoice processing and other real-time data needs.
