Absolutely correct. I used them from Boston to the U.S. West Coast, then from there to NRT. The last leg was on Qantas, actually a code-share operated by JAL - in back. The longer-than-necessary routing was partly for the miles, partly to travel as much as possible in relative comfort. On the return leg I was the beneficiary of JAL's reported policy to put economy pax who bought their tickets outside Japan in the back rows of business class, space permitting. We got economy meals and such, but nice seats.
