Interesting. I think it is as mellowg has said: some US-AMS fares are ignoring MPM and allowing a BOM connection. Personally, I don't think two hours is enough time in BOM to do a turn there, and that's the only option that makes this fare seems to price so favorably.
If it is the same plane taking you back to AMS, why would there be a problem? Maybe this is a naive question, but would you even need to clear customs if you just stay near the gate to take the return flight?
