I've booked both AA and CX tickets on AA.com and it never takes less than 15-30 minutes before they show up as "ticketed" and I get the receipt e-mail. Have not experienced such delays on any other airline's online ticketing process. It may have to do with AA's ticketing process, not the web site - I remember buying tickets on the phone and being told my reservation was "queued up for ticketing, call back in an hour or so to confirm."
