This has been covered many many many times ! Perhaps the member formerly known as RJB should update the FAQ.

No change on a move save that if your points entitle you immediately to a higher level in your new zone than previously (really only applies on moves to Europe i.e. if you are Silver and have 1000 points you are stlill Silver in the UK but Gold in Europe) you will go up to the next tier and your year and points will be re-set because of the promotion (not because of the move).
