There are morning EWR/JFK flights to LHR, so certainly, CO didn't go beyond what they had to.

Now can one arrive @LHR at 8:30pm or so and still catch a flight to DUB, if not, of cause they wont send them even on a CO flight. If Im correct theres a min 90 min connection time so the onward flight would have to be after 10pm! I know CO should have looked the other way and just sent them to LON

Were the paxs on a fare that allowed the use of another carrier? Were there seats on the other flights? does anyone really think that these 3 people were the only ones who had a problem that night?

Ok maybe its me but I dont see what CO did that was wrong and deserving of any type of compensation. Again we dont know the type or restrictions of the tkts. Ill assume they werent Full Ys as then the paxs would have changed them on their own. I feel bad for the people , as I said Ive been in the same situation a number of times both MY fault/ the carriers fault/ and neither ones fault (ie weather or ATC). Where it was solely the Carriers fault I was properly compensated, where it wasnt their fault NOT. It doesnt hurt to try, but I wouldn't expect anything and thats what they got.
