We are a helpful group. That's a good thing. It's fairly common in this forum for helpful FTers to make offers such as this recent real example:
If you give dates, I can check EF for you to see availability.
Expert Flyer provides a service for a subscription fee. The above helpful offer gives away that service for free. How can EF stay in business if everyone gives away the service for free?
How did people obtain availability info in the dark ages before EF was created? That's the same exact way non-subscribers should obtain the info today. Let's
all stop checking EF for others. We're all trying to be helpful, but we're NOT helping Expert Flyer by giving away their service for free.
We don't have to get rude or snotty about it. Instead we can helpfully suggest that someone call AA on the phone to check availability. We can suggest they go to AA.com and hunt around for availability. But let's please stop giving away EF's stock in trade. I want EF to continue, and I just don't think it can if we keep giving away their product for free.
