dining in Mexico City
Just visited Mexico City for the the first time with a couple of friends and was pleasantly surprised by the great dining experiences. We stayed in the nice part of town in the Palanco district at the new W hotel. The first night we went to a nuvo-mexican restaurant called Aguila y Sol which was a new chic restaurant with excellent service. We weren't allowed to bring our own wine but the food and service made up for this. I highly recommend the Duck Mole It was the best thing on the menu and I was fighting off the forks of my fellow diners.
The next night we went to a French Restaurant called Estoril which was right next to the hotel. We all ordered the Chateubriand and opened a bottle of Schafer Hillside Select 1996 (no corkage). The meal was great and the wine even better. We started dinner at 10:30pm and didn't leave until almost 1pm after one of us had ran up to our room and grabbed another bottle of wine.
Good trip.
