I know there are quite a few out there - but I'd like some suggestions for places that people have visited if possible. I'll be heading there in a few weeks.
For Siem Reap - if anyone has any recommendations for hotels that can arrange a car/driver/guide for the temples, I'd appreciate that as well - I realize I can probably just get someone when I'm there - but I'm interested in hearing experiences & recommendations as well.
Thanks in advance!
The Flamingos hotel in Phnom Penh is a very new hotel. About $20. I didn't stay there but a good friend of mine did and he was impressed with it. I stayed at Cafe California2 on the river. It is a guest house run by an American named Jim from Calif. It was OK and the location was good. (

Please be aware that you will need A passport size photo for immigrations and also must pay $25 for a visa at the airport and $20 departure tax when you leave. Or vice versa on the amounts, I can't remember for sure. Another thing, Air Asia, a fairly new airline, has the best airfares out of Bangkok to Phnom Penh. You buy one-way tickets. Return is double the one-way. They weren't flying to PP when I was there so I flew BangkokAirways for about $210 return. As for going on to Siem Reap, there is a Cambodian airline called President airlines who fly this route. I hear they have a lot of delays. You can't book them on the internet and they will not quote you a price. You must go to their office. Just ask when you get to PP. Also, try
http://www.siemreapairways.com/ Although I think they may be affiliated with Bangkok airways, or maybe even the same company. Hope this helps.
