I have stayed at the New World Hotel, which is not far away. It is managed by the same Marriott folks, but not part of the rewards program as of yet. It is very much like a Renaissance, and from what I hear, better. But the Ren. Saigon is right on the river, and in the ritzy Dong Khoi area. Good shopping, but higher prices. The prices are still very low for western standards, but there are better deals in other areas of the city.
