Even so (and I assume these are coach and not premium tickets?) -- how much did you spend on them? Did you give NW an extra 20 dollars here or there?

If you are loyal to NW, you are either able to be flexible beyond what I consider most people to be, on average -- or you have gotten those miles by paying NW extra money here and there.

And given how cheap coach tickets to places are, if you've been giving ANY extra money to earn miles, it's a losing proposition in the end. Coach tickets are ALWAYS cheap if you are flexible.
