We have successfully scored 100% upgrades for special occasions by notifying the hotel ahead of time. Flowers, wine, gifts are sometimes prrovided but are more rare. For children/grandchildren we have solicitated help from housekeeping to "leave" gifts which we have previously purchased off property.
