i'm not sure about ca, but i know cz flies that route without an overnight stopover in can. maybe ka also via hkg.

ctrip worked well for my friend last month (pvg-bkk rt for y2000 all in).

as for hkg, you generally can't save a lot unless you fly rt. for ow trips, i usually advise people to suck it up and fly to szx.
