NEW PRODUCTS TESTED ON DOMESTIC FLIGHTS
Finnair and Aero are together testing a few new products to be served onboard our domestic flights.
The test will be completed on all roundtrip Finnair and Aero flight from Helsinki to Joensuu, Jyväskylä, Kokkola/Pietarsaari, Kuopio, Mariehamn and Vasa between November 2 and 29.
With the test we want to find out, if our customers would prefer juices and berry soups instead of coffee, tea and snacks. At the same time, we are also looking for ways to reduce the amount of waste produced onboard the flight.
Instead of coffee and tea, we will serve a new juice or a berry soup made by Valio. The package holds 2.5 dl and there will always be at least two choices. The berry soups, which are served for two weeks from November 2, are blueberry and gooseberry-boysenberry. The juices - orange, apple and a juice made of five different fruits - will be served for two weeks starting November 16.
This reminds me of another enhancement (in European coach) when the free booze was first limited to cognac and whiskey to improve cabin service efficiency. Then due to popular demand vodka and gin was re-introduced - and suddenly all drinks had to be charged by the FA:s! Maybe coffee will be reintroduced by popular demand as well - for let's say 2 euros a cup? Hope I'm wrong! Wouldn't like to see AY go worse than domestic SK where there is still at least free breakfast...
