Only flown out of IAD twice on an early morning, on a weekday and a saturday morning and that early you should get through pretty quickly... You're right about IAD I've even gone as far as to fly DCA-ORD-somewhere in Europe since I figure its extra miles, it takes me 5 mins to drive or 25mins to walk to DCA vs 1h45 bus to IAD, plus the lines of security.. almost evens out Have safe travels.
