I once had a long conversation with a DL FA who complained that the dress code for female FA's travelling non-rev was more onerous and more stringently enforced than the dress code for men. She was travelling non-rev at the time and looked like she just stepped out of the pages of Vogue so it may be that she just took it much more seriously than most.
