On about 20% of the international First flights I have taken (3 out of 11), the empower port in my originally assigned seat does not work. If the port at your seat is not working, ask the FA to reset it - sometimes they either don't want to do this or don't know how, so you might have to be persistent. If that doesn't work, try moving to another seat.
