The Schwab Visa card is a regular card ( not a debit). I used it all over Asia without the additonal charges (greedy BA and Citi). MBNA also start charging 3% service charges and I have stopped using it. The best bet is still from credit union and small e Banks.
As to ATM, BA have lots of partner banks all over the world and will not charge you the $5 ATM fee. At to Citi, they do not have any partner and can only use at the Citi ATM if you want to avoid the $5 charge.
