Five minutes walk from Paddington station is the Royal Lancaster Hotel.

Their main restaurant is really good - it's called Island. But the real gem is hidden away on the first floor - Nipa Thai - one of the best Thai Restaurant's I've ever been to.

Nipa Thai:Awarded 2 Rosettes by the Automobile Association UK. Nipa is one of only 15 UK Thai restaurants to receive the "Thai Select" award from the Thai Government for restaurants proven to be performing to the highest standards of quality and cuisine.

Island: The open kitchen allows diners to watch Head Chef Leigh Diggins and his brigade in action as they create tempting dishes using fresh British seasonal produce, simply cooked to bring out the natural flavours. Island Bar offers a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, Martinis, spirits, champagne, and juices, and the wine list carries 75 bottles and half bottles of wine, 15 of which are available by the glass.
