Without starting a pissing contest about who's traveled to more countries or who's been to more risque places, I still think I'm justified to call Patong sleazy. Any place with rampant prostitution is sleazy and obviously there's a lot of it in Patong.

If I were looking for a party week or weeked with gay friends I could have a blast staying in the middle of Patong. If I were looking for something more romantic but still near some gay night life I'd stay on the outskirts of town.

Gay people know all about reappropriating words and in my book sleazy isn't always bad. The Folsom Street Fair in SF is definitely sleazy, but still fun as hell.
