In August, I flew with my girlfriend, who had a foot problem and could walk with a cane, but very slowly, and only with a great deal of pain. RNO-MSP-BDL and back, I never had a problem finding a spare wheelchair lying around, either when first entering the airport or at the gate when deplaning. I'd imagine the same will apply wherever you're going. If not, just ask someone with the airline.
