Those numbers are similar to what I see on my frequent EWR-LAX and EWR-SFO flights. I EUA upgrade about 75-80% of the time generally travelling on K fares, and the remainder I blow the mileage to upgrade 6 or 7 days out. There's 3 other guys in my office (all CO/NW Plat in addition to a couple AA/UA high tier members doing the same thing) that go back and forth between the coasts as often as I do and we joke that if you're not sitting next to a CO Platinum on those transcons, then it's probably a celebrity.
