Press Release from OneWorld:

oneworld has warmly welcomed the announcement by Japan Airlines (JAL) today that it is to seek membership of the world's leading quality global airline alliance.
JL is only seeking OneWorld membership. From application, approval to integration, my guess will be sometime in 2007.
