oneWorld Saphire

Hi!

I am posting this interesting calculation to the buzz since it's something surprizing and new to me (and thus buzz). Just telling this so you friendly "The Buzz is only for Buzz!"-guys don't use your artillery.

Also, I might of course be mistaken (since this almost sounds too good to be true).

I looked at the BA Exec Club in Denmark.
In the right classes (Y,B,K,H)
CPH-LHR gives 30 points each way.
That's 60 points for a return trip.

In other words, one would make BA Silver (oneWorld Saphire) in just 7 trips (420 points) and then the years after only 5 trips (300 points) to remain Silver).

With SK:
CPH-LHR gives 600 points.
1200 return trip.

This means 21 trips to become Silver and the same amount to remain that.

The big difference here is of course that BA Silver gets you most oneWorld lounges where as SK Silver gets you no lounge access (well, the domestic lounge at ARN but that does not count).

K class tickets runs at around 2000 DKK (incl. taxes) (~$220) and that's not really so terrible for a return fligt CPH-LHR.
