Sandy Lane is old money, FT is mostly new money (or no money, lots of backpacking discussions on here, hardly a surprise given its student component). Many excellent hotels get little discussion, partly not many have stayed there, partly there isn't much to say or argue about. The best hotels are invisible, at the high end.
