First of all, *A award availability changes all the time. So yesterday's status can be outdated today. Secondly, quite a few M&M agents are either clueless or unwilling/unable to help. The very same is true for the call-center agents of other FF programs, so this is no LH-specific problem. Just call again and again, state all dates, flights and routing combinations you can possibly take and hope for the best. Thirdly, I'd have to kill you if I told you about my means of checking *A award availability.
