I definitely agree that FFers' knowledge and general awareness often makes them much more considerate about others than non-FFers, especially in respecting others' space in the seats (FF'ers are much more likley to concede the armrest to the middle seat pax), aisles, jetbridges, departure lounges, Mr Chicken rows (when done using Mr C, there is *no* reason to remain in front of it and block access!!), etc. Not quite sure about the OHB's, though.

I also think in general FF'ers treat FA's with much more respect than non FF'ers. We tend not to regard them as "air waitresses," and hopefully are conscientious about making their jobs easier in the little ways we can. After having read the USA Today article "A Day in the Life of a Flight Attendant" and seeing the average salaries of UA FA's compared to other carriers, I have tried to become even more conscientious in showing respect to FA's, and not demanding undue attention. From conversations with FA's I know that salary and pension are very sore points. But I also know that the rewards of being an FA are not well understood outside of the profession, though some of them include meeting and connecting with interesting pax, and encountering pax that genuinely appreciate their skill and dedication. I hope that maybe as the years go by I will gain enough FF wisdom to be able to offer some reward to the same group of people at UA who who have treated me very well in my UA experiences.
