I always thought that the light stayed on to make it easier for the FA's to finish their work in less than two hours, leaving sufficient time to pour through the latest issue of Cosmo in detail. If you let that nasty cargo out of their seats, next thing you know they will be asking for something, interrupting your vital FA conference on who is the bigger hunk, Johnny Depp or Brad Pitt?
