I can't find my Router/WAP - but it works...

Greetings,

I have Thomson Speedtouch 530 ADSL modem, and a Linksys WRT54G 4 port router/WAP. Since the modem is also a router, I've set it as the DHCP server (range 10.0.0.XX to 10.0.0.YY), and set the Linksys to "router" rather than "gateway" mode - as recommended if there already is a router in the chain. I also disabled the DHCP server on the Linksys. So the Linksys is just a WAP, and the connection between the Thomson and the Linksys is via one of the network ports, not the internet port.

But - when I attempt to change the IP address of the Linksys from 192.168.1.1 to 10.0.0.ZZ, the "save settings" is followed by "settings successful" and then access to the Linksys via http (192.168.1.1 or 10.0.0.ZZ) is lost. It still works though!!

The only way to get access to the Linksys is to reset it.

Tried Linksys support and they don't have any answers, but we all know there's much more informed people on FT - so hence this question.

Your thoughts/suggestions appreciated...
