Also, on an evening flight last week, the crew dimmed the cabin lights for landing (so it was pretty dark), and then they proceeded to turn off the galley lights and turn the main cabin lights back on again (as they were before they were dimmed). It was quite disconcerting landing with a fully lit cabin at night (BA always seem to dim the lights without fail, so this was a little odd).

The dimming of the cabin procedure is obviously there for a reason, but is this a serious failure in procedures, and would you have said something to the crew (This would probably of had to wait for the plane to land, as this was during the last 5 minutes or so of the flight)?
I assume 'specials' refers to FTers who deserve extra SPECIAL attention on the flight!

Actually I supect it refers to disabled people who would need help getting out in the event of an emergency on take-off or landing.
