I missed my first flight this year, when I realized upon arrival at the terminal at IAD, that when I switched wallets & purses the night before, my drivers license didn't make the exchange -- oops. Drove home and back, made it to the gate when the jetway was still connected, but they wouldn't let me board (apparently they had paged me before I got there - oh, well) - got on the next flight and made my connection (just) in ORD okay.

The one I almost missed was a connection in ORD, when I forgot to switch my watch and was checking email in the RCC thinking I didn't usually have so much time before flights -- hmmm - oops, I'm late!! I'm convinced if my upgrade on that flight hadn't cleared, they would've left without me. I was the very last person on the plane (door closing as I crossed the threshhold) and heard myself begin paged a number of times as I was jogging to the gate. Very happy to make the flight, but the guy next to me was a little concerned about this gasping person that landed next to him.
