Just a thought... Has anyone ever taken ski boots as carry on items? I'm thinking that technically these could pose a security risk, but with the 18kgs allowance in CE, I think a weekend ski trip with just carry on bags may well be possible (assuming of course you don't plan on taking your own skis...)
