Don't go there on European legacy carriers - it wasn't THAT long ago when AF/BA/IB/LH were financial basketcases, and Swissair/Sabena went into cardiac arrest. The fortunes of European legacies has since improved, but the other side of the Atlantic has had its share of hard times just the same.
