How "authoritative" is your answer? 98%? 100%?

I will try to get an equally authoritative answer about AA upgrades on non-AA stock.

Note to AS: AS would get at MINIMUM 12, perhaps as many as 20 more flights (usually transcons from SEA to CHI/WAS/MCO/MIA/DFW) per year, from me alone if they would allow AS Elite's to upgrade AS marketed & operated flights on non-AS ticket stock (even if the upgrade request had to be phoned-in-manually soon after purchase and issue). Probably double that number from my co-workers. We HAVE to fly AA (into the Caribbean). We WANT to fly AS as well. But requiring AS advance-upgrades to ONLY be on AS ticket stock makes flying AS for these flights intolerable. Why would an AA EXP choose an AS flight with a 0% chance of upgrading when he can fly earlier or later on AA and get a 95% chance of a free upgrade 100 hours in advance of flight time? I hope this info gets passed along to someone relevant.
