About Terenz's comment on Eastern Europe - I have travelled there several times and I think its one of the most amazing places I've seen. And I am not talking of Prague or Krakow alone. Having spent time in places all over EE including Poland, Slovenia, Kosovo and Albania, I can vouch for the friendliness of the people there - especially since I am NOT caucasian. In fact people there are much more friendlier than London or Paris.

As for the question 'Does it make a difference whether people in your destination look different from you?' ... yes, it does - because it makes places that are different that much more interesting. I wouldnt let racial / linguistic / cultural differences prevent me from seeing all the wonderful places on this planet.
