I'm a little confused by the DL Platinum bonus for spending $25,000 in a year. The website reads as follows:

Receive an additional 10,000 Medallion® Qualification Miles
Charge just a little over $2,000 a month to your Platinum Delta SkyMiles Credit Card and you could earn 10,000 additional Medallion Qualification Miles

The fine print says "Blackout dates may apply," among other things.

So, are these award miles, or not? I understand that MQMs may get you a higher Medallion status, but does this add 10,000 miles to your mileage balance? I'm a Centurion cardholder, which makes me DL Gold, and there's no way I'm ever going to reach DL Platinum, with or without these 10,000 MQM. So it's the 10,000 award miles that would matter to me. Are DL Platinum cardholders who reach $25K in a year getting award miles, or "just" MQMs?
